Titus 3:10-11 – Avoiding Division in the Church

This is the 38th video in a series of teaching videos on the book of Titus. You can find the first video here.

How do you handle people who are divisive among God’s people? People who are clever and argue well but at the end of the day it’s their view they are promoting and not what scripture teaches. In fact they are actually upsetting people, building a following and dividing the church. People like this have been around for a long time and the verses we are looking at this week teach who they are and how to handle them.

Audio: Ecclesiastes Chapter Seven

Vintage Railroad TracksIn the first 14 verses of Ecclesiastes chapter seven King Solomon lists 12 different comparisons.

Some of the comparisons are rather surprising, such as “the day of death [is better] than the day of one’s birth” Ecclesiastes 7:1 NKJV. Other comparisons are downright shocking… “Better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting” Ecclesiastes 7:2 NKJV.

How can this be?

What is King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, saying? In this message we take a look at the life lessons that Solomon has for us in the first 14 verses of Ecclesiastes 7.

Audio: Renew Your Mind

Romans 12 2 Renew Your Mind

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 NJKV

Paul describes the all out, full on Christian life as a “living sacrifice.” How is this even possible? The answer to this question involves several aspects, however one of those aspects is the renewing of the mind.

How is this even possible? I hope that this sermon will be of help to you in answering this question….

Recorded: Sunday May 27, 2012 at the Memorial Day Weekend Conference convened at the Bethany Gospel Chapel in Worcester, MA.

I love a good argument. Anything to get people wound up and debating! Is that the way you are? Is it a good way to be? The Apostle Paul teaches in this verse that what we discuss should be based on scripture, meaningful and up-building to our faith.

Titus 3:8b – Christians Should Do Good Works

This is the 35th video in a series of teaching videos on the book of Titus. You can find the first video here.

It is amazing to see that the Lord expects salvation to move out from our hearts to our hands. Paul wrote to the Philippians “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”. So whether individuals are being addressed or an assembly salvation has to be seen and felt by others. It has to ‘come out’.

Titus is told to place great emphasis on this truth and so should we.

Audio: Equipping The Next Generation

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…” Ephesians 4:11-12a ESV

Every generation of God’s people have the solemn responsibility to effectively pass along God’s truth to the next generation. We are told in Ephesians 4:12 ESV to “equip” the next generation.

This goes way beyond simply teaching the next generation! Yes, we do have a responsibility to teach the next generation, but we must also go beyond this by equipping them to carry on the work.

Are you up to the task?

Recorded: Saturday May 26, 2012 at the Memorial Day Weekend Conference convened at the Bethany Gospel Chapel in Worcester, MA.
