Christ did not simply die for us; He rose again and lives for us.
Wiersbe, W. W. (1993). Wiersbe’s Expository Outlines on the Old Testament (Psalm 22–24). Wheaton, IL: Victor Books. Logos Edition.
“God is called the ‘God of truth’ (Isaiah 65:16). The Holy Spirit is the ‘Spirit of truth’ (John 16:13). Christ said, ‘I am…the truth’ (John 14:6). No one can have fellowship with the holy trinity who does not walk in the truth (2 John 4; 3 John 4). God desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6). Falsehood of every kind is hateful to Him. There is nothing that so manifests the alienation of the natural man from God as his tendency to falsehood. Of the wicked we are told that they go astray from their very birth speaking lies (Psalm 58:3). Satan himself is the father of lies (John 8:44). It is he who injects the venom of untruthfulness into the heart of man (Acts 5:3). Only by the new birth can this lying spirit be overcome. It is as the regenerated man yields himself to God as one alive from the dead that he learns to delight in the truth objectively revealed, and to walk in the truth subjectively.”

“Covetousness is a form of idolatry because it is both the exaltation of the object desired as well as of yourself, while Christ is eclipsed by both.”

But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Matthew 23:13 NKJV
Recorded: Sunday March 16, 2014 Bethany Gospel Chapel, Worcester, MA.
“When I look at Jesus now on the throne, there He is still the Truth, the truth as to my nearness to God. Christ is the measure of everything before God. On the cross He is the measure of my need, and distance from God; and now, on the throne, He is the truth as to my acceptance and nearness to God. Christ is the truth objectively, and the Holy Ghost is the truth subjectively, as making all good and true to the soul of the believer experimentally.”

Based on Jonathan & David in 1 Samuel 18:1-4:
“Reader, let us remember that love to Jesus is the spring of true Christianity. Love to Jesus makes us strip ourselves, and, we may say, that to strip self to honor Jesus is the fairest fruit of the work of God in the soul.”

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV
Here is an amazing fact – God actually is with us whenever we meet as a local church.
This truth should blow our minds away but it often seems to pass us by. Imagine what church meetings would be like if it really gripped our souls that God was present every time we meet. It would make a vast difference.
May God help us to appreciate this great truth.
