A standard piece of parenting advice is to preview movies and other media before allowing the children to indulge. Sounds simple and logical. Unfortunately, in the real world, there is rarely enough time to preview everything we as parents allow our children to watch.
The temptation is to ‘cut corners’ by attempting to make an educated guess about the movie or TV show in question. We rely on the reputation of the movie’s producer, word of mouth, the movie’s rating, or even the description on the package. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t.
